The following individuals are trustees of the society, which is a registered charity
Anthony is a Chartered Town Planner and worked with several Local Planning Authorities including East Hampshire, before moving to the private sector as a Planning Consultant. He has a strong interest in architecture and the built environment of Petersfield.
Matt is a retired IT professional with wide interests, including music, the arts, travel and the countryside. He returned to the area in his retirement after living his working life in Lancashire and Yorkshire. With experience in running other voluntary organisations Matt is Secretary of the Society.
A former Director of both engineering and consulting companies, Peter was also a former Town Mayor and has interests in conservation and helping to keep Petersfield as an attractive and vibrant Market Town.
Vincent is an architect who has been involved in many projects in and around Petersfield. He is a past Chairman of the Society and concentrates on planning and conservation issues.
Dr Andy Moffat
Andy is a freelance environmental consultant, with a previous career in forestry research and soil science. He is acting Convenor for the Society’s Green Infrastructure Group and has a particular interest in how urban greenspace can help the health and well-being of Petersfield’s communities.
Andrew qualified as a solicitor in the early seventies and practiced in London before lecturing in Law in Nigeria, Hong Kong, Singapore and finally at Exeter University, his specialisation being company and commercial law. Having moved to Petersfield in 2005 he has a strong interest in architectural heritage and preservation, and is a committed and experienced campaigner on such issues.
Peter has had a career in overseas development, working on long and short contracts for Governments and International Bodies. His areas of interest were agricultural research, natural resource conservation & utilisation and the development of civil society. He has lived in Petersfield since 1983 and his children have attended local schools. He is a wildlife enthusiast, sea kayaker and mountain biker. In addition to being a Herne School governor, a Leader of the 1st Petersfield Scouts, and Chairman of the Portsmouth Canoe Club he is also involved with the Langstone Harbour Advisory Board, the Portsmouth, Gosport and Fareham Coastal Safety Forum and the City of Portsmouth Sports Council. He is East Hampshire Green Party treasurer and was their Parliamentary Candidate in 2015.
Beth organises Petersfield Society’s town clean-ups, and liaises for the Society with the press and with schools. Self-employed, Beth is closely involved with the business and voluntary sectors within Petersfield. Beth holds an MA from Cambridge University in Biological Natural Sciences and Land Economy and is a former marketing director.
Clive is a graphic designer and marketer, having been born in Petersfield and lived in the area most of his life, watching the town and area develop over the years. He is keen to see the area develop in line with the community’s wishes rather than it being dictated by developers commercial desires. Clive provides the Society with practical design and communications support.
Peter is a retired transport professional, and is convener of the Society’s Highways & Transport Group (HTG). He represents the Society in the East Hampshire Community Rail Partnership, and is active within CPRE, particularly as a member of its South East Transport Group. He has lived in the area since 1987, and both his children attended local schools.
