Storms, Floods, Heatwaves – Can Petersfield Cope?

Climate change is the most pressing issue of our time. The Met Office reports that there may be only 12 years before we reach 1.5°C of warming. How well or poorly prepared are we in Petersfield and surrounding villages for the widely predicted extreme weather effects?

This Community Forum will look at how heat and flooding can be mitigated by green infrastructure, and by maximising the contribution of our natural environment.

We will hear from the Environment Agency about the likely impacts on places like ours, about climate change policies from the District Council and National Park Authority, and from green infrastructure experts.

Our speakers are:

Katy Peat, Environment Agency Climate Change Research Group

Jane Devlin, Energy Strategy Manager, East Hampshire District Council

Bruce Collinson, Project Manager, Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company

There will be opportunity for plenty of discussion, a chance to feed back our hopes and to decide individual and group actions.

EVERYONE WELCOME. WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
