The Petersfield Tree Trail
The Petersfield Tree Trail has been written and photographed by Petersfield tree warden Robin Hart.
It covers a distance of about 2 miles, both on roadside pavements and around the Heath and pond footpath, during which time you may well see in excess of sixty species of tree. A shorter 1.25km route can be taken just around the Heath Pond.
As you walk around the trail we hope you will be surprised and impressed with the variations of trees, introduced from distant lands such as South Australia, China, Himalayas, Caucasus, Mediterranean Area and North America, to favour our climatic zone and to exist alongside our native species.
We hope you enjoy the walk and that in some small way we may have contributed to your understanding of the trees around us that we so often take for granted.
The Petersfield Tree Trail book is priced at just £5 and will be available from our stall at the various community events in Petersfield, or order here, with a £1.20 delivery charge. We will either post your book or if local we may walk it round to you!

We are grateful to our sponsors whose funding has helped make the publictaion of this book possible:
We wholeheartedly welcome this publication, distilling as it does the years of experience with our trees into a readable and fascinating document. We commend it to all.
