Notice of Annual General Meeting
Petersfield Society’s 2025 AGM will take place on Thursday 18 September 2025, at 19:30 in the United Reformed Church Hall, College Street.
Captain Malcolm Farrow OBE RN (Ret’d), President of The Flag Institute, will give a talk entitled “Symbols To Unite Us”, covering national flags, regional flags and the Petersfield flag.
Malcolm’s interest in vexillology began early in his naval career, developing further when he became a signals officer with responsibility for flags. Malcolm started to record British ensigns, producing a list that many years later became The Colours of the Fleet. Malcolm is an adviser to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Heritage. He also played a key role in ensuring that the UK national flag flies daily on public buildings in London.
Also included in the AGM: election of trustees and our annual awards ceremony celebrating the outstanding work of two local organisations.
Doors open at 19:00. Refreshments will be available. The event is open to all and admission is free, but it helps us to keep track of numbers if you book your place through Eventbrite, using the button below:
Other future events: we have speakers booked for Thursday 23rd October, Wednesday 19th November, Thursday 4th December and Thursday 15th January 2026. Topics will include the Petersfield Musical Festival and the Rother Valley Way. Further details will be published shortly.
